1. The first step is to prepare your computer (Windows Xp/7). You need to set up ADB (Android Debug Bridge) which is a versatile command line tool that enables you to communicate to an Android powered devivce connected to your computer. The ADB comes as part of the standard Android SDK. Now extract the zip file and note where you store the resulting folder (which will be named ‘android-sdk-windows’) on your computer.

2. Now we have to make ADB easily accessible from anywhere at the command line, so we shall add its path to the PATH environment variable on the computer. If you have no experience with editing system environment variables, make a System Restore point now so that you can revert back to it in case something goes wrong. Right-click the ‘Computer’ icon on your desktop and click ‘Properties’. Now click the ‘Advanced’ tab from the options in the pane to bring up the ‘System Properties’ window. In the ‘System Properties’ window, click the ‘Environment Variables’ button still under the ‘Advanced’ tab.Find ‘Path’ under the ‘System variables’ section and double-click it to edit it as shown below.
NOTE!
Make sure you DON’T delete the existing entries in ‘Variable value’ or it will mess up things on your computer!
Now add the string of the path to the “tools” folder where you had initially stored the extracted folder on your computer AT THE END OF EXISTING ENTRIES, separating the entry from the previous entries using SEMI-COLONS (no spacing). For example if I stored the extracted folder on drive D: on my computer, I would add the path:
;d:\android-sdk-windows\tools
Note that the “tools” folder is found inside the unzipped “android-sdk-windows” folder. I still insist that the previous entries MUST be left unchanged.
Also note that the semi-colons are necessary to separate each path variable entry from the next and previous ones. Once you have added the path, you MUST reboot/restart your computer. Do not move the unzipped folder (android-sdk-windows) because that will change its path.
3. Now we have to install the USB drivers for the IDEOS onto the computer. Interesting enough you do not have to download the USB drivers for the IDEOS because it is usually shipped with its tools to sync the device with the PC.
• Go to Settings on your phone
• Select Applications
• Select Development
• Make sure ‘USB Debugging’ is checked (Settings->Application->Devolpment->click on Usb Debugging to enable it)
Now connect the IDEOS to your computer via USB, DO NOT mount the SD card on the computer i.e don’t “Turn on USB storage”.
You will notice that the IDEOS usually has two drives when connected to the computer, one of them is the Removable Disk & the other is a CD drive (named ‘mobile partner’ on some computers)
The drive outlined in red is the one that contains the USB drivers for your IDEOS!
Your computer will prompt you that it has found new hardware, you should not let it search for drivers automatically but direct the ‘found new hardware’ wizard to the drive shown above & let the computer install.
If your computer does not prompt you, or it does not detect the connected device, go to ‘My computer’ on your desktop, right click on the icon & click manage. Go to device manager & you will see the device IDEOS with a yellow question mark beside it. Right click on it & you will see the options needed to manually install the drivers, just direct the wizard to the drive outlined in red, shown above, which contains the USB drivers & install.
Once drivers have installed, you can verify successful installation by going to Device Manager. Your phone should be showing under ‘ADB Interface’, like in this example:
4. Now that your computer is ready, the final step is rooting your IDEOS using SuperOneClickv1.9.5-ShortFuse which you can download (download link is available below) and then save it on your desktop. Super One click
Note that this application needs .Net Framework 2.0 or higher installed on your computer to operate. You can download .Ner Framework 2.0 from here(http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=17718 )
• Once this is done, connect your phone to the computer. it is important to note that after connecting the phone, you must not mount SD card (as previously mentioned).
• Now go to phone settings and enable USB Debugging.
• Once this is done, launch SuperOneClick.exe by double clicking (you do not need to install).
• Click on the Universal tab on the screen
• Finally click on Root tab and wait for the process to finish. It will take around two to three minutes or even less.
There you go! you now have a rooted handset ready to accept any custom ROM. Don’t forget to let me know if this procedure worked for you.
Flashing Custom Rom
The following steps will guide you install Custom Roms On your device. Flashing Custom Roms May void Warranty. So proceed With caution .

1.Switch off your phone.
2. Go to bootloader mode by pressing End call button+volume down+power button. The device will be stuck in your bootscreen logo. This is perfectly Normal , DO NOT PANIC.
3.Connect your phone to the computer using the usb.
4.Download UltraJack recovery here. Click on Install – recovery windows.
5. Ultra jack is successfully installed.
6.Download the custom Rom for your phone. I recommend fusion Ideos , As it is quite stable and provides many features as well.You can download Fusion ideos here.
7. Boot your phone in recovery. This is by pressing volume up key + green button + power button (press the all above keys at the same time)
A screen should appear on your IDEOS that has the HUAWEIi logo as a background.
8. Use the D -Pad under the screen to move between options.
I suggest you check out all of the threads by the ROM developers before making a decision .
Some of these ROMs may differ when it comes to installation .
It is always recommended that you carefully read through the dev 's post and comments about their ROM.
9. After you have downloaded the zip file from one of those threads, move the zip file onto your phone.
10. Shut down your phone.
11. Boot your phone in recovery mode using the method outlined above .When the Custom recovery has loaded , select Flash zip from sdcard .
12. Select choose zip from sdcard.
13. Select the zip file you moved onto your phone.
14. Confirm choice.
CONGRATS, Your device will boot into the custom rom
